Pyongyang, December 25 (KCNA) — Colorful events were held in Pyongyang and local areas on December 24 to commemorate the 80th birth anniversary of the communist revolutionary fighter mother Kim Jong Suk.
Pak Song Chol, Kim Yong Nam and other senior party and state officials were present at an evening gala of youth and students in Pyongyang held at the central hall of youth.
The performers danced and sang famous songs “Azalea” and “My Mother” and other songs on the undying exploits of mother Kim Jong Suk, who made great contributions to the Juche revolutionary cause, and prayed that she would enjoy immortality along with the prospering and developing socialist homeland.
A synchronized swimming performance “Brilliant Rays of Loyalty” was given at the swimming pool of the Changgwang Health Complex in Pyongyang.
Youths and students held a national poem-reciting and story-telling meeting in the Sinpha Revolutionary Site in Ryanggang Province.
An art exhibition of the Ministry of the People’s Armed Forces has opened at the circus of the Korean People’s Army.
Meanwhile, art performances have been given at theatres in Pyongyang and local areas to celebrate the 6th anniversary of the election of General Kim Jong Il as Supreme Commander of the Korean People’s Army and the 80th birth anniversary of mother Kim Jong Suk.
