“KCTU” protests against authorities’ suppression

Pyongyang, January 15 (KCNA) — The “Korean Confederation of Trade Unions” (KCTU) protested against the authorities’s arrest of the chairman of the “National Democratic Federation of Metal Trade Unions” and three other leading unionists, according to a South Korean newspaper report.

It is natural, the organisation said, that they supported their nominated candidate at a meeting of workers. The authorities suppression of this is a premeditated move to obliterate the labour movement, it stressed.
It is a terrorist act that the puppet clique sent policemen to a meeting place to mercilessly crack down on those who supported their candidate, it said.
The organisation called for a prompt punishment of the prime movers.
