Pyongyang, January 22 (KCNA) — The basketball team of a sub-workteam is cutting a conspicuous figure in mass sports brisk in Korea.
The team consists of 18 year-old girls, members of a sub-workteam of the Rajinpho Cooperative Farm in Yonan county, south Hwanghae Province. They advanced into the finals of games among cooperative farms in the county a few days ago.
Sub-workteam leader Han Ung Gol (55) is the coach of the team and an umpire.
He played captain of the farm’s team when he was young.
It was from the middle of march last year that the girls began to learn how to play basketball.
The sub-workteam leader taught them to play basketball after a day’s work.
In the course of this they have prepared themselves spiritually, physically and technically.
