Rodong Sinmun on danger of U.S.-Japan alliance

Pyongyang, February 5 (KCNA) — Rodong Sinmun today brands the recent military talks between U.S. Secretary of Defense William Cohen and Japanese officials as a new dangerous move to activate the implementation of the aggressive “guidelines for U.S.-Japan Defence Cooperation.”

The paper in a by-lined article says:
The new “guidelines” is a joint U.S.-Japan scenario for aggression in case of “crisis” around Japan. The two nations plan to carry into practice the scenario on the pretext of “joint response” to “crisis” around Japan.
At the talks, the two sides agreed to begin specifying joint operations and “cooperation” between the U.S. Forces and the Japan “Self-Defence Forces” in case of “emergency” around Japan and decided to set up a “comprehensive body” that is responsible for the formulation of “joint operation plan” and “mutual cooperation plan” and for “emergency legislation.” This proves that the scenario is being put into the practical stage.
It must not go unnoticed that the scenario is nearing the danger line, with the Korean Peninsula as the target.
Both the United States and Japan intend to invade Korea as the first goal in their ambition for domination over Asia.
All this shows that their moves for aggression on Korea and the rest of Asia under the new “guidelines” are getting pronounced, assuming practical danger.
