Pyongyang, August 24 (KCNA) — A joint team of the national alliance of youth and students for the country’s reunification visited Mt. Paektu over August 20-22.
The visit came within the framework of excursion to historical sites in the north of Korea.
The team is made up of delegates of youth and students from the north, south and overseas.
The team members toured Lake Chon on Mt. Paektu and collected samples of queer rocks and plants.
Hwang Son, delegate from the south, said she would certainly visit the mountain again together with a million students in the south when the country is reunified.
She wrote in the visitor’s book that the million students in the south would always fight to build a unified country.
Ri Jong Su, head of the overseas side, said Mt. Paektu is an ancestral and revolutionary mountain symbolic of the strong spirit and soul of the Korean nation and a holy land of the 70 million Koreans.
During their excursion, the team members spent a pleasant time playing sports and games and enjoying entertainment together with young people and students in Samjiyon county, Ryanggang Province.
The team, which had held a starting ceremony at Kim Il Sung University on August 10, dissolved itself with due ceremony on August 22, winding up its program successfully.
