Kim Jong Il’s election as head of state to be welcomed abroad

Pyongyang, August 28 (KCNA) — Preparatory committees for welcome to Kim Jong Il’s election as DPRK head of state have appeared one after another across the world.

The committees were formed in Mexico, Mongolia, Russia, Uganda, the Czech Republic, Equatorial Guinea, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Italy, Egypt, Yugoslavia, Guyana, Poland, Pakistan, Brazil, India, Jordan, Malta, Bangladesh and many other countries.
They are composed of senior government officials, party leaders, and prominent political and public figures. Among them are the former Maltese President, the former Prime Minister of Pakistan, the former Foreign Minister of India, the Minister of Amerindian Affairs and the Minister of Civil Service of Guyana, the Equatorial Guinean minister of state for the presidency in charge of missions, the Maltese Minister of Communication and Harbour, a deputy speaker of the Russian State Duma, and the first secretary of the C.C., the Communist Party of Bulgaria.
The preparatory committees adopted programmes for celebrations and are pushing ahead with them.
