Pyongyang, August 28 (KCNA) — A UNDP-assisted project for modernising the Anju area mining engineering institute was completed on August 27 with due ceremony.
Laboratories of the institute have been built on modern lines.
The institute will help develop a new structural form of iron props and fixing agents to suit the weak bedrock condition in Anju area, introduce them into the main pits of all coal mines in the area so as to improve the maintenance of pits without a lot of logs and iron and steel, save the cost of maintenance and keep coal production on a high level.
Present at the ceremony were officials concerned, Cheryl Hairston, assistant resident representative of the UNDP mission here, and its staff member.
