Pyongyang, August 29 (KCNA) — A national art festival of the people has opened here to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
Participating in the festival, which is to be held in the form of provincial and national art contests, are art circle members from over 8,400 institutions, industrial establishments and co-op farms.
Put on the stage are more than 33,200 art pieces of different themes. Among them are art works reflecting the greatness of President Kim Il Sung, the founder of the DPRK, and General Secretary Kim Jong Il, who glorifies the DPRK, and the rockfirm will of the Korean people to resolutely defend the headquarters of revolution.
The opening ceremony was held at the Pyongyang Grand Theatre on Friday.
