Pyongyang, September 5 (KCNA) — A Korean postage stamp exhibition was opened to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the DPRK.
On display there are 3,150 kinds of stamps issued over the past 50 years since the foundation of the DPRK including those printed for the first time in Korea after the liberation. 1,120 kinds of stamps presented by philatelists and 200 pieces of stamp designs, postcards and envelops selected at a national prize contest are also displayed.
Shown at the exhibition hall are stamps (enlarged pictures) containing images of the President Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il with a broad smile on their faces.
An opening ceremony took place at the Pyongyang International House of Culture on Sept. 4.
Vice-premier of the Administration Council Jang Chol made an opening address.
