Pyongyang, September 8 (KCNA) — 53 years have passed since the United States militarily occupied South Korea on September 8, 1945.
A signed article of Minju Joson today says:
In the past, the United States advertised that the U.S. forces present in South Korea were “deterrent force to downward thrust of the Soviet Union” and were helpful toward the preservation of peace.
Today when the Cold War has come to an end, their allegation has lost its meaning.
The United States has frantically stepped up preparations for war against the DPRK under the pretext of “threats of southward invasion.” worse still, the U.S. tries to shift the responsibility onto the DPRK-laying stands of the cemeteries. And his floral basket was laid in front of the main sculpture “victory” of the monument.
Present at the wreath- and floral basket-laying ceremonies were Kim Yong Nam, Hong Song Nam and other senior officials.
Wreaths and floral baskets were laid in the name of the Workers’ Party of Korea Central Committee, the presidium of the Supreme People’s Assembly of the DPRK, the cabinet of the DPRK, the Ministry of the People’s Armed Forces, commission and Ministries of the Cabinet, the Korean Children’s Union, public organisations, national institutions, organs of science, education, culture and art and the press, units of the Korean People’s Army, party and power bodies, administrative and economic organs, factories, enterprises and cooperative farms in Pyongyang.
Bunches of flowers were also laid by working people from all walks of life, servicemen, youth and schoolchildren in Pyongyang.
And the military attaches corps here laid a wreath before the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery on Mt. Taesong and a floral basket in front of the monument.
