Statements on Korean issue distributed as UN official documents

Pyongyang, September 21 (KCNA) — The September 15 statement of the spokesman for the DPRK Foreign Ministry and the September 17 statement of the DPRK mission in the United Nations were distributed as official documents S 1998/865 and S 1998/866 of the United Nations Security Council on September 18.

The statement of the spokesman denounces the reckless acts of Japan towards DPRK’s launching of an artificial satellite, which are creating on northeast Asia a serious situation menacing world peace and security.
The statement of the mission rejected the “press information” announced by the President of the UN Security Council in step with Japan’s campaign against the DPRK and made clear that DPRK would continue peaceful space development.
Recalling the fact that the united nations has never been informed in advance by those countries which launched satellites, it said: it is unreasonable for those nations to take issue with DPRK’s launching of a satellite at the UN Security Council.
This is a typical example that double standards are applied in the UN Security Council.
The statement rejected the recent behaviour of the UN Security Council, regarding it as a grave insult to the sovereignty of Korea.
