S. Korean trade unions vow solidarity struggle

Pyongyang, September 26 (KCNA) — Chairmen of the Federation of Korean Trade Unions and the National Federation of Financial Trade Unions in South Korea called a press conferance on September 22, at which they declared they would intensify a solidarity struggle in protest against massive dismissal from banks, a Seoul-based radio reported.

In response to the decision taken by nine bank trade unions to stage a general walkout for an indefinite period from September 29, the Federation of Korean Trade Unions decided to join in their struggle.
It declared it would withdraw from the Labour-Management- Government Committee in case the question of personnel cutback at banks was not solved until this week.
