Overnight sit-in in S.Korea

Pyongyang, September 30 (KCNA) — More than 20,000 unionists of nine banks, including the commercial bank of South Korea, held a rally and staged an overnight sit-in from Sept. 28, demanding an immediate withdrawal of the authorities’ unilateral “restructuring,” according to a Seoul-based radio report.

The trade union side had negotiated on personnel reduction from the night of Sept. 28, but the bank side insisted on reducing personnel 33.3 percent till the end of the year, which infuriated unionists.
The authorities sent more than 2,500 police of 20 companies to disperse the strikers.
