Pyongyang, October 26 (KCNA) — The people who have devoted their all to the construction of a powerful nation in the revolutionary spirit of soldiers are given prominence in the Korean society.
Among them is Kim Yu Bong, a coal miner of the February 8 Jikdong Youth Coal Mining conglomerate.
He has remained true to the plan of General Secretary Kim Jong Il for the building of a powerful nation through increased coal production.
After his military service he volunteered to work at the coal mine in November Juche 75 (1986) in hearty response to the call of the party and the leader for increased production of coal.
Over the past 13 years he has been the first to over-fulfil his yearly quota at the coal mine. For the last 12 years he has greatly helped the collective turn out what was under the 27 years’ plan.
He, a party cell secretary, contributed to the conversion of the collective into a twice winner of the three-revolution red flag, his cell into the one loyal to the party, and a primary organization of youth league into a thrice model primary organization of youth vanguard as well as to the promotion of at least 60 people to officials of primary organizations and the emergence of over 40 new members of the Worker’s Party of Korea.
Kim Jong Il made him a merited coal miner and a person of distinguished service. It was under his loving care that he participated in meetings such as a meeting of party cell secretaries and the 2nd meeting of the frontrankers of the three-revolution red flag movement.
