Pyongyang, October 29 (KCNA) — The north-targeted dangerous war exercises are going on in and around the Korean peninsula.
The U.S.-South Korea “Foal Eagle” joint military maneuvers have been under way throughout South Korea since October 26.
Involved in the “Foal Eagle” launched allegedly to cope with an “emergency on the Korean peninsula” are more than 500,000 South Korean armed forces, over 35,000 U.S. troops, a naval task force of the 7th U.S. fleet and huge quantities of modern war equipment and means.
Such offensive forces involved in the 38th “Foal Eagle” are huge enough to undertake a war. It is aimed at starting the second Korean war.
The joint military drill of the “Self-Defense Forces” of Japan and the U.S. forces started on Wednesday, timed to coincide with the “Foal Eagle.”
Meanwhile, the madcap “99 Hwarang” exercise was launched in South Korea on Monday with over one million forces including 20,000 soldiers, the “homeland defence reserve forces” and “civilian defence forces” involved.
Earlier, the U.S.-Japan joint naval drill, the Japan-South Korea joint naval drill, flying exercise of the U.S. forces present in Japan and various other joint military exercises were staged almost every day.
All this goes to prove that the hostile forces have gone to extremes in their military tie-up and insolent moves to stifle the north by force of arms. This touches off towering hatred of the Korean people and people’s army.
The “Foal Eagle” and other joint military exercises started by the U.S., Japan and South Korea are part of the moves to escalate military confrontation with the DPRK and invade it.
The U.S. and its followers launched such reckless large-scale war exercises in different areas after being talkative about “detente” and “improved relations” at the end of the Berlin talks. This cannot but be an unpardonable grave military threat to the DPRK.
Such perfidy of the U.S. as whetting its sword to hurt its dialogue partner is an undisguised challenge to the desire of our fellow countrymen and the progressive humankind for peace and stability.
The U.S. and other forces hostile to the DPRK are well advised to act with reason and discretion.
If they ignite a war of aggression, misjudging our patience, they will not escape from a merciless retaliation and punishment by the Korean People’s Army and people.
