Provocative drill of transporting Japanese overseas

Pyongyang, November 10 (KCNA) — The Japanese “Self-Defence Forces” reportedly staged a drill of “transporting Japanese overseas” by a warship of the Maritime “Self-Defence Force” at Sagami bay and Yokosuka port, Kanagawa Prefecture, on November 7.

This is the first of its kind since the adoption of the law on the revision of the “Self-Defence Forces law” in may which legalizes the dispatch overseas of the warships as well as planes of the “Self-Defence Forces.” It is one of the “laws on the emergencies in the surrounding areas” for the implementation of the updated “Japan-U.S. Defence Cooperation Guidelines”.

Tokyo Shimbun November 6 reported that the drill presupposed “SDF dispatch to the Korean peninsula.”
