“Golden lion prize” awarded to DPRK circus

Pyongyang, November 11 (KCNA) — “Aerial flight on iron bar” presented by the Pyongyang Circus placed first and was awarded “golden lion prize,” the highest prize of the festival, at the 7th Wuqiao International Acrobatic Festival held in Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province, China.

This acrobatic piece was highly praised at the festival for breaking a new ground in aerial acrobatics with refined and flawless skill.

“Golden lion prize” went also to “pilots” which the circus performed on invitation, and the special prize to the interlude “bitter experience.”

The chairman of the festival jury and acrobatic experts of various other countries praised the “aerial flight on iron bar” as a new type of aerial acrobatics which not only demonstrated the world’s highest level of skill but broke the stereotyped pattern of aerial acrobatics. The DPRK is poised to take a top place in the creation of acrobatics in the 21st century, they added.
