Pyongyang, November 18 (KCNA) — An international workshop of experts for an effective use of rice genetic resources in developing countries was held at Kim Il Sung Institute of Agricultural Science in Guinea from October 18 to 27.
Present there were scientists and technicians in the agricultural domain of Guinea, genetic experts of Mali, Ethiopia, Nigeria and other countries, the DPRK ambassador to Guinea and embassy officials and the members of the DPRK delegation.
The governor of Kindia Province of Guinea, who represented the Guinean government, in his speech at an opening ceremony said: The institute is a shining example of south-south cooperation which was built for the agricultural development in African countries thanks to the solicitude of the President Kim Il Sung. It has made a great contribution to the agricultural development in Guinea and other African countries.
The successful holding of the international workshop under the care of the great leader Kim Jong Il would be a brilliant example of south-south cooperation, he stressed.
