Oil leakage accidents on increase

Pyongyang, November 19 (KCNA) — 2,530 accidents of oil leakage polluting sea were reported in South Korea from 1993 to 1998, a Seoul-based radio said.

The quantity of oil leaked at seas reached 38,300 litres and 65 percent of the accidents were caused by oil tankers.

As a result, the number of the fishermen leaving their fishing grounds because of polluted waters is on an annual increase in South Korea.
