Military Drill Announced in S. Korea

Pyongyang, August 23 (KCNA) — The metropolitan defense command of the south Korean army announced that a military drill codenamed “Hwarang” involving civilians, government officials and army would be staged from Aug. 23 to 27, according to south Korean MBC.

As a part of the exercise, “a drill to cope with terrorism using chemical and biological weapons” is expected around the Socho District Office and Sookmyung Women’s University in Seoul on Aug. 25 with a chemical battalion under the command, police and firemen participating.

The south Korean warhawks are seeking to foster the atmosphere of confrontation with the new war drill coinciding with the start of the “Ulji Focus Lens-04” joint military exercises by the U.S. imperialists.
