Guarantee of Three Rights of Labor Demanded in S. Korea

Pyongyang, August 27 (KCNA) — The south Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU) issued a statement on Aug. 23 demanding the guarantee of the three rights of labor to the Public Employees’ Union, according to south Korean MBC.

It accused the “government” and the ruling party of having decided to present the bill on the above-said union banning the rights of all actions including a strike and slowdown of unionists to the “regular National Assembly session” slated for next month.

The KCTU branded the action not to guarantee the right of collective actions out of the three rights of labor, basic rights of trade unions, as an intention to reduce the union to an organization in name only.
