Dispatch of Troops to Iraq Denounced

Pyongyang, September 3 (KCNA) — The People’s Action against the Troop Dispatch reportedly sponsored a rally in Seoul on August 28 to denounce the present regime for dispatching the main force of the Jaitun Unit to Iraq.

Noting that the main force of the Jaitun Unit left for Iraq by stealth at dawn that day, the speakers at the rally deplored that the “government” finally fell deep into the mire of the war of aggression in disregard of the opposition of a great number of people.

Vowing to wage a demonstration of massive scale against the U.S. aggression of Iraq and the authorities’ troop dispatch, they called upon all social strata to join them.

They proposed a mass trial campaign to judge the criminals responsible for the war of aggression against Iraq including Bush and flunkeyist traitors of south Korea.

The rally was followed by a demonstration.

The south Korean Federation of University Student Councils on August 30 made public a statement titled “Let us bring down a sledge hammer on the humiliating south Korea-U.S. alliance by a struggle for the withdrawal of the dispatched units.”

Questioning how long the sovereignty of the nation must be violated, the statement declared that all the people would fight with redoubled force to write off the dishonor of a cooperator in the war of aggression and end the unequal south Korea-U.S. relations.
