Pictures of Gift Animals and Plants Exhibited

Pyongyang, April 21 (KCNA) — Electric pictures of animals and plants sent to President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il as gifts by party and state

leaders and prominent figures of many countries have been displayed in the International Friendship Exhibition on the occasion of the Day of the Sun, the President’s birth anniversary.
Over 100 animals and plants of 50-odd kinds, some of the gifts, were pictured with the help of computer.

The display enables the visitors to the exhibition to see animals and plants growing at the Central Zoo and the Central Botanical Garden.

There are pictures of Kimilsungia and Kimjongilia, each size being 1.5mx3.5m. The first flower is what former Indonesian President Sukarno named after Kim Il Sung and presented to him during his visit to Indonesia in April Juche 54 (1965) and the latter is what a Japanese horticulturist Mototeru Kamo bred, named after Kim Jong Il and presented to him.

Among the displayed pictures are those of zebras sent from the central region of Africa and Lemur catta from Madagascar.

There is also a picture of a pair of white tigers sent to Kim Jong Il by Choe Su Jin, general manager of the Corporation of the National Economic Development located in Heilongjiang Province, China, in June 2004. It shows the intrepid tigers against the background of Mt. Paekdu.
