Chongryon Officials Vow to Train Youngsters as Successors to Patriotic Cause

Tokyo, April 27 (KNS-KCNA) — A meeting of officials of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) and Koreans in Japan was held at the Korean Hall in Tokyo on Tuesday to extend thanks to leader Kim Jong Il for sending educational aid fund and stipends in the 151st installment.

Jo Ryong Hyon, chairman of the Central Korean Educational Association in Japan, said in his report that the educational aid fund and stipends sent by Kim Jong Il this time represent profound loving care as they greatly encourage the officials of Chongryon and Koreans in Japan putting final spurs to the 8 months-long movement to implement the decision of the 20th Congress of Chongryon and speeding up the development of national education.

The report was followed by speeches by representatives of Koreans from all walks of life.

A message of thanks to Kim Jong Il was adopted there.

The message noted that they would strengthen the ranks of educational workers in charge of the lifeline of the movement of Koreans in Japan politically and ideologically, firmly establish Juche in education and improve national education as required by the new century and in line with the desire of the compatriots and thus train the youngsters as dependable successors to the patriotic cause of Chongryon.

Present there were Nam Sung U, vice-chairman of the Central Standing Committee of Chongryon, educational workers of Chongryon, Korean scientists and students in Japan and other Koreans in Japan.
