Pyongyang, May 25 (KCNA) — Leader Kim Jong Il received the “Grand Cross of the National Order of Merit,” the highest order of Guinea, from Guinean President Lansana Conte.
A ceremony of conveying the order was held at the Mansudae Assembly Hall Tuesday.
Present at the ceremony were Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People’s Assembly, Rim Kyong Man, minister of Foreign Trade, Kim Su Hak, minister of Public Health, and officials concerned. Also present there were Facine Toure, a special envoy of the Guinean president, and his party and Banou Keita, director general of the Kim Il Sung Institute of Agricultural Science in Guinea and chairman of the Guinean Society for the Study of the Juche Farming Method, on a visit to the DPRK.
The special envoy said in his congratulatory speech that the order awarded to Kim Jong Il reflects the profound reverence of the Guinean people for him.
He wised Kim Jong Il shining success in his noble work to carry forward the idea and cause of President Kim Il Sung with loyalty.
