Pyongyang, May 25 (KCNA) — A ceremony took place at the Mansudae Assembly Hall Tuesday to convey the “Grand Cross of the National Order of Merit”, the highest order of Guinea, which was awarded to President Kim Il Sung by Guinean President Lansana Conte.
Present at the ceremony were Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People’s Assembly, Rim Kyong Man, minister of Foreign Trade, Kim Su Hak, minister of Public Health, and officials concerned.
Also present were Facine Toure, a special envoy of the Guinean president, and his party and Banou Keita, director general of the Kim Il Sung Institute of Agricultural Science in Guinea and chairman of the Guinean Society for the Study of the Juche Farming Method, on a visit to the DPRK.
The special envoy said in his congratulatory speech that he deemed it great honor to convey the highest order of Guinea awarded to the President who made a great contribution to the development of the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries. The President will always be with the Korean people and the people of Guinea, he added.
The order was handed over to Kim Yong Nam by the special envoy.
