Russian Embassy Officials Lay Wreath before Liberation Tower

Pyongyang, June 12 (KCNA) — Staff members of the Russian embassy here laid a wreath before the Liberation Tower Sunday on the occasion of the national day of the Russian Federation.

Guards of honor of the Korean People’s Army lined up before the tower.

Among the participants were Russian Ambassador Andrei Karlov and embassy officials, foreign guests staying in the DPRK and diplomatic envoys.

Amid the playing of the wreath-laying music the participants placed a wreath in the name of the Russian embassy before paying a silent tribute to the fallen fighters of the Soviet Army.

They looked round the tower.

They went to the cemetery of the fallen fighters of the Soviet Army in Sadong District, Pyongyang, to lay a wreath and bouquets.

Prior to it, bouquets were also placed before liberation towers, towers for the memory of the Soviet Army and statues of Soviet soldiers in Sinuiju, Wonsan, Nampho and other local districts.
