Pyongyang, June 14 (KCNA) — A grand national march for paving the way for independence, peace and reunification was staged by representatives of Koreans in the north and the south and abroad here Tuesday as part of the celebrations of the fifth anniversary of the publication of the historic June 15 joint declaration.

A large number of working people and school youth and children turned out with Korean Peninsula flags and bouquets in their hands to the streets from the boulevard in front of the Chollima Statue where the march was expected to start to the Kim Il Sung Stadium, the venue of the opening ceremony of the festival, to warmly welcome them.

Slogans for reunification shouted by the representatives will reverberate throughout Korea and reach wherever Koreans live, he added.

Led by an open limousine carrying the representatives of the three sides `holding the flag of the march the ranks of marchers threaded their way through the streets with the large Korean Peninsula flag in the van amid the warm welcome of Pyongyangites. They were seen holding placards reading “Let us achieve the national unity under the banner of the June 15 joint declaration!” and waving Korean Peninsula flags.
