Hailstone Falls in DPRK

Pyongyang, June 14, (KCNA) — It hailed untimely in South Hamgyong Province in the northeastern part of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

Between around 20:30 and around 21:00 on the 10th of June and between around 18:30 and around 19:30 on the next day heavy showers with hailstones fell once or twice in the overall inner highland of the province under the influence of the low atmospheric pressure traveling from the northeastern area of China.

According to the observation made by relevant weather stations the hailstones fell in Sinhung and Hongwon areas were as big as 25-30mm in diameter and those in Jangjin, Pujon, Hamhung and Jongphyong 5~10mm in diameter.
