Distorted Results of Prosecution Investigation Denounced

Pyongyang, June 15 (KCNA) — The People for Achieving Peace and Reunification, a south Korean civic organization, called a press conference in Seoul on June 10 and denounced the distorted results of investigation by the prosecution into the case of the murder of schoolgirls Sin Hyo Sun and Sim Mi Son, according to south Korean KBS.

An analysis of the record of prosecution investigation opened to the public three years after the murder by GIs reveals that the results of investigation by the Uijongbu District Prosecutor’s Office in August 2002 were a distortion, said the organization. The prosecution claimed at that time that “the case was unavoidable because no measure could be taken due to communication jamming”.

The “recommendation on the legal examination of the investigation results” sent to the U.S. Second Division by the district prosecutor’s office one month after the publication of the investigation results included proofs that the criminals had picked up the schoolgirls and the U.S. soldiers’ statement contained the record that “there was no communication jamming,” noted the organization, adding: This implants into the people a suspicion that the prosecution published distorted results of investigation at that time.
