Guarantee of Rights of Part-time Workers Demanded in S. Korea

Pyongyang, June 22 (KCNA) — The South Headquarters of the National Alliance for the Country’s Reunification reportedly demanded the authorities ensure the rights of the part-time workers.

The headquarters in its statement on June 17 said the death of Kim Thae Hwan, chief of the Chungju Regional Branch of the Federation of south Korean Trade Unions, who was active for the rights of the part-time workers and was killed by a truck, was a murder committed by the employers who ignored the vital rights of the irregular workers.

Urging a stern punishment of the employers and those concerned who were evading responsibility, the statement demanded the government substantially ensure the three rights of labor of the part-time workers.
