All Koreans Called upon to Remain True to Three Charters for Natfl Reunification

Pyongyang, July 9 (KCNA) — The three principles of national reunification, the ten-point programme for the great unity of the whole nation and the proposal for founding the Democratic Federal Republic of Koryo are the three charters for national reunification. They are an undying great programme for reunification that should thoroughly be implemented to accomplish the cause of national reunification. Rodong Sinmun Saturday observes this in a signed article.

The charters indicate the most fair and reasonable ways of achieving national reunification as early as possible in conformity with the actual conditions of the country and the unanimous desire of the Korean nation, the article notes, and goes on:

The three principles of national reunification — independence, peaceful reunification and great national unity — are the cornerstone of national reunification as they clarify the fundamental standpoint and ways of solving the issue of national reunification by the concerted efforts of the Koreans according to their will and interests.

The ten-point program for the great unity of the whole nation comprehensively lays down the goals and ideological basis, principles and ways of great national unity. It, therefore, serves as a political programme for strengthening the driving force for national reunification by achieving the unity of the whole Korean nation.

The proposal for founding the DFRK indicates basic ways of achieving the reunification of the country most fairly and smoothly.

The three charters for national reunification reflect the spirit of national independence, the spirit of regarding the sovereignty and dignity of the nation as life and soul, and serve as an effective and just programme for reunification based on the noble patriotic desire to peacefully reunify the country by achieving the reconciliation of the north and the south and great national unity. They are enshrined in the hearts of the 70 million Koreans as the three pillars of reunification.

The Koreans in the north, the south and overseas should wage a dynamic struggle to achieve the cause of the independent and peaceful reunification of the country by their concerted efforts only on the basis of the three charters for national reunification under whatever situation and circumstances.
