Pyongyang, July 17 (KCNA) — Supreme Commander of the Korean People’s Army Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and chairman of the National Defence Commission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, inspected a newly-built general foodstuff processing factory under KPA Unit 534.
The factory built in an area covering more than 130,000 square metres is a general foodstuff processing base that can turn out all kinds of non-staple foods and a variety of foodstuffs including basic foodstuffs and, at the same time, process grains.
The builders wrought such a miracle as successfully finishing the construction project in a matter of a little more than two years.
He went round the exterior and interior of the modern factory to acquaint himself with the construction and production.
He said the general foodstuff processing factory has been designed in a far-sighted way and the cultured practices in production and hygiene, to say nothing of the quality of the construction, have been guaranteed on the highest level and highly appreciated the efforts of the builders.
Noting that the factory is an excellent factory that fully meets the needs of the IT era and the new century in every aspect, he said the proud success is the fruition of the noble spiritual world of the servicepersons and people who live not for today but for tomorrow, cherishing the warm love of the country.
He said the duty and role of the factory are of weighty importance in improving the dietary life of the servicepersons and set forth the tasks that would serve as guidelines in operating and managing the factory.
He expressed expectation and conviction that the employees of the factory would make a new leap forward in production in hearty response to the joint slogans of the Central Committee and the Central Military Commission of the Party.
He was accompanied by Ri Myong Su, Hyon Chol Hae and Pak Jae Gyong, generals of the KPA, Ri Yong Chol, member of the Central Military Commission and first vice department director of the Central Committee of the WPK, and Ri Jae Il, first vice department director of the WPK Central Committee.
