Pullback of U.S. Forces from S. Korea Urged

Pyongyang, March 22 (KCNA) — The Solidarity for Implementing the South-North Joint Declaration in south Korea issued an appeal titled “Let’s rise up in the struggle to defend Phyongthaek and force the U.S. troops out of south Korea” on March 17, calling for driving the U.S. troops out of this land with the efforts of all the people.

Pointing out that residents and public activists are waging a struggle to defend peace and the cradle of life in Phyongthaek area, the appeal said that if Phyongthaek is not defended, the second and the third Phyongthaek will appear tomorrow and if the U.S. forces in south Korea are allowed to be realigned, the crisis of a nuclear war in the Korean Peninsula will be further aggravated.

It called upon all the people to join the residents in Phyongthaek in the just struggle to block the moves for the expansion of the U.S. military base and defend vital rights and peace.
