S. Korean Peasants Protest Authorities’ Moves for Opening Agriculture

Pyongyang, March 26 (KCNA) — The “National Federation of Peasants Associations”, the “National Federation of Agricultural Managers” and other 11 peasants organizations of south Korea reportedly formed the Federation of Peasants, a permanent solidarity organization for reviving agriculture against the conclusion of the south Korea-U.S. FTA, on March 22.

At an inaugural meeting held in Seoul the Federation of Peasants called for further expanding solidarity with the people and pooling their efforts in the struggle to revive agriculture. .

An inaugural declaration was read out at the meeting. .

The declaration stressed that the peasants would make every possible effort for the revival of agriculture together with the people against the authorities’ moves for opening agriculture.
