Pyongyang, March 26 (KCNA) — The Federation of Koreans in the United States and Kim Su Sik, chairman of the Association of Koreans in Japan for Peaceful Reunification, made public statements separately on March 21 and 25 to demand a stop to the large-scale joint military exercises to be staged by the U.S. and the south Korean military authorities, according to a news report.
The federation in the statement said that the war exercises may go over to a war as they are a drill for a preemptive nuclear attack. The anti-national, anti-human forces harassing peace will be sternly judged by history, it stressed. .
Kim Su Sik in the statement branded the joint military exercises as a very grave criminal act of bedeviling inter-Korean relations and driving the situation of the Korean Peninsula to the brink of war, going against the June 15 era. .
If the south Korean authorities truly want the improvement of inter-Korean relations and peace on the Korean Peninsula, they should not become the follower and accomplice of outsiders’ aggression and intervention but stop at once the joint military exercises with the foreign forces and take the road of independent reunification, peace against war and great national unity, he stressed.
