Pyongyang, April 1 (KCNA) — An exhibition of scientific and technical achievements made in developing and using wind energy was held at the Three-Revolution Exhibition in Pyongyang from March 28 to 31 under the sponsorship of the Central Committee of the Korean General Federation of Science and Technology.
On display there were various shapes of wind-driven generators, models, diagrams and various kinds of wind-driven generator accessories.
They showed fine successes and experience made in developing and using wind energy in the country. Among them were research data on characteristics of distribution of wind-power resources in different areas, new methods for surveying, analyzing and estimating the resources, technology of manufacturing wind-driven generators and their parts and technique for their installation and operation.
Conspicuous were the wind-power resources distribution chart on which the wind density, effective wind energy and places for setting up generators in different parts of the country were marked, distribution chart of effective wind energy density and distribution chart of average yearly wind velocity.
The 100W-300W wind-driven generators for home use which have been widely introduced in west coastal areas were highly appreciated for their quality and low production cost.
The operation system of 440kW asynchronous wind-power station also caught eyes of experts and visitors.
