Pyongyang, April 10 (KCNA) — The South Headquarters of the National Alliance of Youth and Students for the Country’s Reunification reportedly made public a statement on April 5 denouncing the Grand National Party and the conservative media for zealously supporting the U.S. in its moves for a war against the north.
The statement said:
The Defence Ministry complained to the police all the participants in the demonstration staged in protest against the joint landing exercises on the charge of “disturbing the performance of special duty.” On April 4 GNP Representative Pak Kun Hye addressing its “Supreme Committee” demanded the “government” take a strong action against the participants in the demonstration.
The conservative media including Chosun Ilbo, chiming in with her outcry, released only misinformation about the demonstration, falsifying the truth that the recent joint military exercises were aimed at invading the north.
The anti-U.S., anti-war action of the participants in the demonstration was a patriotic resistance reflecting the desire for national unity and reunification, the statement noted, strongly demanding the ministry immediately withdraw the charge brought against them.
