Guinean Public Figure on June 15 Joint Declaration

Pyongyang, June 27 (KCNA) — Gouressiou Bari, chairman of the Guinean Committee for Supporting the Independent and Peaceful Reunification of Korea, issued a statement on June 8 on the occasion of the sixth anniversary of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration.

June 15 was not only a historic occasion that set up a new landmark in the reunification movement of the Korean people but also a day of victory for the world progressives aspiring after peace and independence, he said, stressing that the adoption of the north-south joint declaration was a brilliant fruition of the great love for the country, the nation and the people and a victory of the idea of independence.

With the adoption of the declaration, he said, the idea of national independence became the nationwide idea of the Korean people and the banner of “By our nation itself” began flying on the Korean Peninsula over which dark clouds of antagonism and confrontation had been hanging.

He expressed the belief that the Korean people would certainly achieve the reunification of the country by implementing the joint declaration to the letter under the wise guidance of Kim Jong Il.
