Pyongyang, June 30 (KCNA) — Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People’s Assembly, Thursday sent a message of greetings to the 7th Ordinary Session of Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union.
In the message Kim Yong Nam extended heartfelt congratulations and warm greetings to the heads of state and government and all other representatives participating in the session on behalf of the DPRK government.
The government and people of the DPRK highly praise the African Union and its member states for their great achievements in the work for resolving the disputes and other regional issues by their concerted efforts and achieving independent development of the continent and will make all their efforts to vigorously consolidate and develop relations with the African Union, the message noted, adding:
Convinced that the summit would mark an important occasion in taking practical measures for stepping up the political and economic integration of the continent and achieving peace, stability and sustainable socio-economic progress in the region, I sincerely wish that the summit would achieve a good success in conformity with the expectation and desire of the peoples of member states of the African Union as well as all the developing countries.
