Withdrawal of S. Korean Forces from RIMPAC Demanded

Pyongyang, June 30 (KCNA) — The South Headquarters of the National Alliance for the Country’s Reunification reportedly issued a statement on June 25 demanding an immediate withdrawal of the south Korean forces from the theatre of the U.S.-led massive RIMPAC-2006 joint military exercises.

Involved in the joint war game launched by the United States in the Pacific on June 25 under the cloak of “guarantee of security” of sea routes and “joint action against terrorism” are military strength more than 20,000 strong, all told, including south Korean troops and latest types of means of war.

The joint military rehearsal started by the U.S. while getting undisguised in its hostile policy toward the DPRK and crying for a preemptive strike is, in fact, a war game targeted against the DPRK, the statement said, adding: It is unthinkable that the south Korean forces have a share in the military drill having fellow countrymen in its gunshot.

It is downright treachery and an act of self-destruction to level the gun on fellow countrymen on the order of outside forces which threaten the vital rights of the nation, acting in concert with the U.S., it said, urging the south Korean army to immediately pull out of the theatre of the military maneuvers.
