Pyongyang, July 1 (KCNA) — A meeting took place at the Pyongyang Grand Theatre on Friday to mark the 60th anniversary of the Korean Documentary and Scientific Film Studio.
A congratulatory message of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea to the creators, employees and officials of the film studio was conveyed by Yang Hyong Sop at the meeting.
The congratulatory message said that President Kim Il Sung with a deep insight into the important role of the documentary and scientific films in the revolution and construction founded the film studio on July 1, Juche 35 (1946). Kim Jong Il put forward a revolutionary policy on boosting the production of documentary and scientific films as required by the process of modeling the whole society on the Juche idea and has led the struggle to implement it, the message noted, and continued:
The creators and officials of the film studio produced a great many revolutionary and militant documentary films and popular scientific films in the periods of the building of a new country, the Fatherland Liberation War and socialist construction. In this way they have contributed to powerfully arousing the people to the revolution and construction and accelerating the construction of socialist economy and culture. The message highly praised them for having registered successes in producing a lot of films that helped the Korean people firmly defend socialism of Juche and usher in a new era of building a great prosperous powerful nation.
