Solidarity with Korean People Expressed Abroad

Pyongyang, July 5 (KCNA) — A round-table talk took place in Rome on June 22 under the sponsorship of the Italian Committee for Friendship and Solidarity among the Peoples on the occasion of the sixth anniversary of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration.

Chairman of the committee Ines Venturi said that Chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission Kim Jong Il opened an epochal phase in implementing the last instructions of President Kim Il Sung on national reunification by providing the historic inter-Korean summit in 2000.

Chairman of the Forma Association under the Communists Party of Italy Bruno and other speakers, referring to the importance of the work of supporting the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration, stressed the need to conduct in various forms and ways the solidarity movement for accelerating Korea’s reunification.

Meanwhile, Manju Ratna Sakya, chairman of the Nepal Journalist Association, addressing a meeting held in Katmandu on June 26 on the occasion of the month of international solidarity with the Korean people, stressed that they hope Korea will be reunified independently and peacefully as early as possible and that they will extend invariable support and solidarity to the Korean people in their struggle for reunification.

A message of solidarity to Kim Jong Il was adopted at the meeting.
