Special Envoy of Indonesian President Feted

Pyongyang, July 7 (KCNA) — The DPRK government hosted a reception at the Mansudae Assembly Hall on Thursday in honor of the special envoy of the Indonesian president on a visit to the DPRK.

Present on invitation were Councilor to the President Nana Sutresna, special envoy of the Indonesian president, and his entourage and Charge d’Affaires Bambang Irawan K. and officials of the Indonesian embassy here. On hand were Paek Nam Sun, minister of Foreign Affairs, and other officials concerned.

Paek Nam Sun in his speech said the DPRK visit by the special envoy of the Indonesian president following his visit last February was an expression of the good faith of the Indonesian government attaching great importance to the development of the bilateral relations and a token that these relations have kept developing favorably in the new century.

Korea-Indonesia friendship with a long history and a solid foundation is invariably being cemented and developed in conformity with the aspiration and interests of the governments and peoples of the two countries despite the complicated international situation, he noted.

He expressed deep thanks to the Indonesian government and people for always paying deep attention to the accomplishment of the just cause of the Korean people and the issue of peace and reunification on the Korean Peninsula and extending full support and encouragement to them.

We highly appreciate the efforts of the Indonesian government to achieve the territorial integrity and economic growth of the country, defend independence in foreign relations and ensure impartiality in international problems and wish it greater progress in its future work, he stated.

The special envoy said he cherished deep reverence for President Kim Il Sung, highly praising the undying feats performed by the President for the building of the DPRK.

Saying he was visiting the DPRK again as a special envoy of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, he noted that his president was showing special concern for the building of deeper relations between Indonesia and the DPRK.

The Indonesian president attaches importance to the reunification of Korea and the significance of the process of the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and considers that achieving a durable peace in this region is highly important not only for the Korean people but for the world people, he declared.
