Pyongyang, July 8 (KCNA) — Officials of the party and state of the DPRK Saturday visited the Kumsusan Memorial Palace to pay homage to President Kim Il Sung on the occasion of the 12th anniversary of his demise.
Kim Yong Nam, Pak Pong Ju and other senior officials, chairpersons of the friendly parties, members of the Cabinet and leading officials of party and working people’s organizations, ministries and national institutions entered the hall where the statue of Kim Il Sung stands.
Seen on both sides of the statue were flags of the Workers’ Party of Korea, the DPRK and colors of the Korean People’s Army. A guard of honor of the three services of the KPA lined up there.
A floral basket in the joint name of the Central Committee of the WPK, its Central Military Commission and the National Defence Commission of the DPRK, the Presidium of its Supreme People’s Assembly and its Cabinet was laid before the statue amid the solemn playing of “Song of General Kim Il Sung”.
Written on the ribbon of the floral basket were letters “The Great Leader Comrade Kim Il Sung Is Immortal”.
They paid respects to him in humble reverence.
They entered the hall where Kim Il Sung lies in state and paid homage to him in most profound reverence.
They went round with deep emotion the orders, medals and certificates of honorary titles the President received at home and from many countries of the world, the mourning hall, the train coach used by him during his on-the-spot guidance and visits to foreign countries and the car used by him in the last period of his life.
The Kumsusan Memorial Palace was visited by anti-Japanese revolutionary fighters, officials of different institutions and people from all walks of life on Saturday.
The diplomatic corps and the military attaches’ corps here and foreign guests and Koreans overseas visited the palace to pay homage to the President on the same day.
