Solidarity with Korean People Expressed in Italy and Singapore

Pyongyang, July 8 (KCNA) — A meeting and a lecture took place in Italy and a film show and a photo exhibition in Singapore on June 20 and 29 on the occasion of the June 25-July 27 month of anti-U.S. joint struggle.

Ines Bentry, chairman of the Italian Committee for Friendship and Solidarity among the Peoples, addressing a meeting, said that the United States ignited the Korean war on June 25, 1950, for the purpose of dominating the whole Asian region and committed immeasurable crimes against the Korean people, but sustained a bitter defeat for the first time in history.

Burno, chairman of the Forma Association under the Communists Party of Italy, recalled in a speech that Kim Jong Il arranged the inter-Korean summit on June 15, 2000 which culminated in the publication of the historic north-south joint declaration. Korea should be reunified independently and peacefully in the spirit of the joint declaration, he said.

Then followed a lecture on the situation of the Korean Peninsula, including the main contents of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration and the efforts of the DPRK government for its implementation.

The director of the Ram Seng Hang Private Ltd. Co. of Singapore, after watching Korean film “The Korean People’s Army, Steel-like Ranks,” said that a war should not be repeated in the Korean Peninsula and the U.S. troops should quit south Korea. The Korean people under the Songun leadership of Kim Jong Il are the strongest and dignified people in the world, he added.
