Russian Ensemble Gives Premiere in Wonsan

Wonsan, July 11 (KCNA) — The visiting Academy Ensemble of the Interior Unit of the Russian Ministry of Interior gave its premiere in the port city of Wonsan on Tuesday.

The ensemble known well to the Korean people as a prestigious art troupe put on the stage colorful numbers it prepared in a peculiar manner.

In their repertoire including a chorus and orchestra “Workers in Wartime”, a national instrumental music solo “Russian Folk Game” and male solos and choruses “A Flock of Cranes” and “Evening in Moscow Suburbs” the artistes represented the wartime struggle of the Russian people and soldiers and their optimistic life with dynamic and rich voice and high artistry.

“Kazak Dance”, “Moscow Dance Music” and other dances truthfully depicted the national emotion and customs of the Russian people.

The performers successfully presented male solos and choruses of Ukrainian and Italian songs.

They successfully performed male solo and chorus “Song of General Kim Il Sung” and a chorus and orchestra “Song of General Kim Jong Il” to be highly acclaimed by the audience.

They also presented with enthusiasm and emotion Korean songs “My Blessed Life” and “I Think, Seeing You” to the delight of the audience.

A floral basket was conveyed to the performers in congratulation of their successful performance.

Among the audience were Ko Jong Dok, chairman of the Kangwon Provincial People’s Committee, Ju Kyong Jun, secretary of the Kangwon Provincial Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, and others.
