DPRK Students Win International Chorus Contest

Pyongyang, July 25 (KCNA) — Students of Pyongyang Music and Dance School won a gold medal and a certificate of merit at the 4th International Chorus Contest, which opened in Xiamen, Fujian Province, China, on July 15 under the sponsorship of the International Cultural Foundation.

It brought together more than 300 choruses including music institutions from at least 80 countries.

The participants, divided into 26 groups, had to compete in preliminaries before moving up to the contest.

On July 17 girls chorus of Pyongyang Music and Dance School took part in the contest among members of the young girls group participated in by more than 50 choruses from 16 countries including China, UK, South Africa, and Australia.

Korean girls successfully presented Korean famous songs of “Nostalgia” and “Girls Greeting Spring”, folk song “Play with Flowers” and German song “Weaving Girl” with high artistry, winning a high acclaim of the jury and audience.
