Kim Il Sung Remembered in Cambodia and Sri Lanka

Pyongyang, July 26 (KCNA) — Meetings for remembering President Kim Il Sung were held in Cambodia and Sri Lanka on the occasion of the 12th anniversary of his demise.

Displayed at the venues of the meetings were photos showing the undying feats of Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il.

Kong Sam Ol, deputy prime minister in charge of the Royal Palace of Cambodia, said that it is the duty of the Cambodian people to deeply remember the shining life of Kim Il Sung, a close friend of the Cambodian people. We will never forget the efforts made by him for the Cambodian people, he added.

Reggie Ranatunge, director general of the Asian Regional Institute of the Juche Idea and chairman of the Sri Lanka-People’s Korea Friendship Association, said that Kim Il Sung was the genuine leader of the people who devoted his all to the struggle for the freedom and liberation of the people and the accomplishment of the human cause of independence.

W. A. Dumindwardane, secretary general of the Sri Lanka-People’s Korea Friendship Association, said that the life of Kim Il Sung was the life of a great revolutionary which is shining with Songun and that the army and people of the DPRK could defend the socialist banner in high spirit and open a new era of building a great prosperous powerful nation under the leadership of Kim Jong Il as the President has successfully settled the issue of inheriting the Songun cause.
