Wreaths Laid before Martyrs’ Cemeteries

Pyongyang, July 27 (KCNA) — Wreaths were laid at the Revolutionary Martyrs’ Cemetery on Mt. Taesong and the Patriotic Martyrs’ Cemetery on July 27 on the occasion of the 53rd anniversary of the victory in the great Fatherland Liberation War.

Seen on the wreath-laying stands were wreaths sent by Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea, chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission and supreme commander of the Korean People’s Army.

Kim Yong Nam, Kim Ki Nam and others were present at the wreath-laying ceremony held at the Revolutionary Martyrs’ Cemetery on Mt. Taesong.

Amid the playing of the wreath-laying music wreaths were placed in the name of the WPK Central Committee, the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People’s Assembly and the DPRK Cabinet.

Also placed there were wreaths in the name of the Ministry of the People’s Armed Forces, working people’s organizations, ministries, national institutions, KPA units and scientific, educational, public health and media organizations and party and power organs, working people’s organizations, factories and farms in Pyongyang, and bouquets and flowers.

The participants laid bouquets before the bust of Kim Jong Suk, anti-Japanese war hero, before paying silent tribute to her.

Pak Pong Ju, Choe Thae Bok and others were present at the wreath-laying ceremony held at the Patriotic Martyrs’ Cemetery.

Amid the playing of the wreath-laying music a wreath was laid in the joint name of the WPK Central Committee, the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People’s Assembly and the DPRK Cabinet.

Then wreaths were placed in the name of social organizations, ministries, national institutions and scientific, educational, cultural and art and media organizations and party and power organs and farms in Pyongyang.

That day, wreaths were laid before the statues of martyrs, monuments to the fallen KPA fighters and cemeteries of fallen KPA fighters across the country.

Meanwhile, the Military Attaches Corps here placed a wreath at the Revolutionary Martyrs’ Cemetery on Mt. Taesong.
